INTRODUCTION-

Fairhills Primary School’s Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is a community owned facility and provides primary school-aged children with care in a creative, stimulating and safe environment.

Our Before School Care Program operates from 7.00am to 8.45am each day before school.  At 8.45am the children are encouraged to enjoy 15 minutes in the school yard to maintain social contact with their peers before the commencement of their school day. The children can access a healthy and nutritious breakfast between 7.00am - 8.20am to prepare them for the day ahead.  A range of indoor activities are programmed in a relaxed, fun environment.

After School Care operates from 3.30pm to 6.00pm on normal school days.  On days where children are dismissed earlier than 3.30pm, (eg. last day of term) care will be provided from the time of dismissal. Fresh out of school, the children are given a nutritious, varied afternoon tea.  They are able to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, both indoors and outdoors. Twice a week, the children participate in the Active After-School Care Communities sports program  at no additional cost to families. This is run by experienced coaches and is funded by the Australian Sports Commission.

Care is subject to adequate enrolment numbers on designated Curriculum Days and operates from 7.00am to 6.00pm when required.

Our Vacation Care Program is provided from 7.30am to 6.00pm during each term break, closing for approximately 2-3 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period.  Dates coincide with the Victorian Schools term calendar and are advertised prior to each program. Limited excursions and incursions are offered during this period to extend and excite the children’s interests.

All programs are funded by the Commonwealth Government to provide Child Care Assistance to eligible families.

STAFF-

Our program offers quality, innovative, interactive, professional carers. All staff has a long association with the school and are current in first aid, food handling and child development principles.   Each member of staff has undergone a working with children check and complete regular police checks. Regular professional development ensures our team continues to offer high quality care.
